Introduction
Guru Nanak Dev Polytechnic College, established by the Nankana Sahib Education Trust (NSET), was founded in the memory of the most sacred temple of NANKANA SAHIB, the birth place of GURU NANAK DEV JI. Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (Amritsar), a premier organization of Universal Brotherhood, with the mission of Removal of Economic Backwardness through Technology, established the College in 1953. The Trust deed was registered on 24th February in the year 1953 with a commitment by the Nankana Sahib Education Trust to uplift the weaker section of rural India by admitting students every year from rural areas. Late Sh. N.V. Gadgill, Former Governor of Punjab, laid the foundation stone of the present building on 16th March 1959. The pass outs of this institution are at present successfully employed in India and Abroad.

History
Guru Nanak Dev ITI in spare capacity of Guru Nanak Dev Polytechnic college, which is a state Govt. Aided minority Institution, got accreditation from NCVT, DGET Govt. of India on 27th June 2019. It is functioning under the aegis of Nankana Sahib Education Trust (NSET) with a Managing Committee appointed by NSET to look after routine management functions with due representation of the State Government in it. The Managing Committee recommends policy decisions which are ultimately put up to the Nankana Sahib Education Trust for approval. The broad areas of administration e.g. planning, students amenities and welfare faculty development, staff welfare infrastructure development etc., are entrusted to various Committees for the smooth functioning of the institution.The Institute follows the Punjab State Board of Technical Education & Industrial Training Calender.
